It's amazing to remember that immediately after gaining independence, the country had only 3 customs points - Ungheni, Leușeni, and the internal customs in Chișinău. Today, the number has expanded to 22 customs points, showcasing the significant progress achieved. This important institution has grown in strength and influence within the law enforcement and security agencies of the state, and this has been possible due to the professionalism, objectivity, and transparency of the Customs Service team. This team has contributed to protecting citizens from fraud, scams, and other illegal activities.
The Customs Service is founded on key principles such as legality, impartiality, and professionalism, and it takes responsibility for developing international trade, combating customs fraud, and ensuring the economic security of the country.
